    Important to remember. Abuse that takes place against women around the world is driven by the same instincts and biases which disadvantage and discriminate against women in all aspects of life.
    What is honour-based abuse? Our latest post explores this particular type of violence against women and also sets out some of the myths and misconceptions that can prevent us from appropriately addressing this violence.
    We’re looking more closely at gaslighting this week, and it’s important for us to recognise what an isolating tactic it is. By making a victim feel as if they cannot depend on people around them or themselves, an abuser can create exclusive dependence from a victim on them.     This week, we’ve been looking at gaslighting - a form of emotional abuse. It’s important to define violence not by physical impact alone. Accepting that emotional violence IS violence is key to developing a better understanding of how abuse works.
